Day 8 Adventures

Drove to Cooktown for supplies then headed for Lakefield National Park but got sidetracked by a likely looking 4 wheel drive track. The track wasn't on the Hema maps app but was on Nicole's VMS Mud Map app. Very dusty track but no dust in the Hi House. We had great fun and a few hours later had to ask at a station if we could drive through their yard to get through to Laura. They weren't too impressed but I think Summer did the trick. Saved us a few hours going back and a night on the track. Never got to the NP except when we skirted it on the track. So tonight we have an unscheduled stop at the Laura pub campground and a bonus shower! Great day!
