Penne father is lovely. Except for the big croc in the inlet/lagoon. As soon as I sighted the croc all the boys ran to the edge of the water to put the tinnie in, cos the fish were jumping, while the women looked on in horror! They caught some mullet for bait for tomorrow. We had to assist Lindsay and his camper trailer a couple of times to make it here. First time we've had to let down the tyres....very soft sand. Mats camper trailer got bogged to but Ben got him out.
The boys went fishing until they saw the croc headed towards them. We saw its eyes later in the torch light. Stayed by the fire (which involved a log splitting contest) and didn't get out of the hi house all night. Thank goodness for the inside toilet!
Day 17
In Weipa to collect the new compressor we dropped in for repairs yesterday. Could have used it when we came off the sand today. Had to drive more slowly than normal to get to town. We're staying at Pennefather again tonight it's a great spot. Hoping someone will have caught fish for dinner by the time we gat back. Max and his party are still in Weipa with vehicle problems.
